Vuzix does not sell finished consumer smart glasses directly. Vuzix's consumer-facing role is providing the underlying optical and hardware technology — waveguide optics, display integration architectures, and the Ultralite OEM Platform — to companies building branded consumer intelligent eyewear and AI-enabled wearables. Consumers typically experience Vuzix technology through OEM partner products rather than through a Vuzix-branded consumer device.
Vuzix Ultralite platforms support four consumer AI wearable use cases: AI assistant interfaces delivering context-aware responses directly in the field of view, navigation and contextual awareness with guidance overlaid on the physical world, communication and notifications via Incognito-supported discreet delivery, and hands-free media and content interaction. Different Ultralite configurations (Pro, Audio) optimize for different combinations of these use cases.
Consumer smart glasses must balance optical performance, weight and ergonomics, aesthetic design, battery efficiency, thermal constraints, camera and social acceptability — usually all at once. Vuzix waveguide systems are engineered for these constraints: thin (down to 0.35mm) and lightweight optics, Litebank technology for prescription compatibility, Incognito to reduce visible device signature, low-power display integration, and form factor flexibility through the Ultralite Platform configurations. The Vuzix optics team works with OEM partners to optimize tradeoffs for each program.
