European Hackathons Spell a Bright Future for Vuzix Blade
Back in the early 90s, hackathons were few and far between. Few understood what they were. Even fewer knew they existed. Fast forward to 2019 and these collaborate computer programming events have gone mainstream.
Vuzix recently participated in several upcoming European hackathons in fall 2019. Both the MobiledgeX Edge Experience and hubraum CloudXR hackathons in Poland and Germany, respectively, shone a spotlight on the Vuzix Blade smart glasses.

Testing the limits of augmented reality
These events have far-reaching implications. Highly-skilled programmers are tasked with pushing the limits of modern AR technology.
Which is why Vuzix chose to support hundreds of developers at both of the aforementioned hackathons.
After all, nothing breeds innovation like competition. Such innovation was put on display at these tech meetups, as programmers worked collectively and against one another to bring ambitious smart glasses dreams to life.

Bye-bye smartphone, hello smart glasses
Ultimately, these events help ensure the 5th generation of digital hardware (after the smartphone) will rest on the bridge of your nose – not in your pocket.
A leader in smart glasses technology – and a champion of its adoption – Vuzix is proud to help the industry move forward.
By briefly placing the innovative and sleek Vuzix Blade in the hands of developers in Europe, smart glasses and AR technology close in on becoming a fixture of modern times.
