    Hands Free
Modeled after a conventional ear-mounted hands free system used with smartphones, the Vuzix smart glasses, model M100 expands the design to include a camera and display arm.

The smart glasses can be worn in multiple ways, in front of the left or right eye and using any of the available mounting options including over-ear, over-head or behind-head.

Wireless BT and Wi-Fi connectivity to a smartphone enable a mobile connection to the Cloud. Though application control can be performed using control software on a smartphone, supported voice and gesture commands enhance the smart glasses hands free experience.

Of course, speaker and noise cancelling microphone are included as well.

    Video - Display
Presented on an arm in front of your eye, a 16:9, WQVGA, full Color display provides visual access to your smartphone display, basic web content and other data fed to the smart glasses by your smartphone and on onboard applications.

The 16-degree field of view and bright display is designed for indoor and outdoor use.

    Applications

The Vuzix smart glasses, model M100 contain a dedicated processor running an Android operating system.

Android applications can be downloaded directly into the smart glasses and both Android and IOS (i.e.: iPhone and iPad) applications can be wirelessly linked to the smart glasses via BT and Wi-Fi.

By connecting to and using smartphone applications you can run text, video, email, mapping, audio and other applications we have come to enjoy on smartphones. You can also run onboard or remote applications specifically designed or enhanced for smart glasses use.

Imagine, you’re out shopping and spot an interesting item on the shelf. A quick snapshot of the barcode and your smart glasses enhanced app goes off to the Cloud, finds the product and competitive product and displays the data. If a more attractive offer is available elsewhere, you can instantly place your order, then and there.

    Spatially Aware
Integrated GPS and head tracking capabilities enable global positioning as well as view orientation.

An integrated head tracker is able to determine not only your current direction of view but also movement. With the right app, and combined with its camera system, the smart glasses can determine where and what you are looking at, enabling seamless actions relevant to your environment and objects in your proximity.

    Video - Capture
By integrating a 16:9 720p high definition camera, your smart glasses are able to capture video and still images.

Still image capture is like a conventional camera and is effective for barcode and other actions that can be used with smart glasses aware applications. Video capture is stored onboard using a micro CF slot capable of supporting up to 8GB of memory.
